OBJECTIVE:
1.1
To lay down a procedure for operation and maintenance of cyclo mixer.
2.0
SCOPE:
2.1
This procedure is applicable to cyclo mixer located in microbiology
laboratory at Pharma Private Limited.

4.0
PROCEDURE:
4.1
Ensure that the instrument is clean before starting.
4.2
Switch ON the mains.
4.3
When the instrument connected to the power supply the pilot lamp will
glow.
4.4
Cyclo mixer has a switch with three positions
like ON, OFF and TOUCH.
4.5
Cyclo mixer can be operated by two methods
4.5.1
Touch Operation
4.5.2
Continuous Operation
4.6
Touch Operation:
4.6.1
Push the switch button to ‘TOUCH’ position.
4.6.2
In touch operation mode the speed regulation will not work.
4.6.3
To operate cyclo mixer, press the mixing head with test tube or conical
flask which is containing testing solution.
4.6.4
After completion of mixing remove the test tube or conical flask from
mixing head the operation will stop.
4.6.5
After completion of activity return the switch to ‘OFF’ position.
4.7
Continuous Operation:
4.7.1
Push the switch button to ‘ON’ position.
4.7.2
Set the speed with the help of speed regulator
knob by rotating clock wise direction.
4.7.3
Put the test tube or conical flask which is containing test solution on
mixing head and hold them.
4.7.4
After completion of mixing turn off speed regulator knob by rotating anti
clock wise direction and remove the test tube or conical flask.
4.7.5
The cyclo mixer will operate continuously with set speed until the switch
is moved to ‘OFF’ or ‘TOUCH’ position.
4.7.6
After completion of activity return the switch to ‘OFF’ position.
4.7.7
Note: 1. Cyclo mixer has interchangeable
mixing heads.
2. Exchange the interchangeable mixing heads according to the shape
and size of
the
container (Test Tubes, Conical Flasks, vials).
4.8
Switch OFF the mains when the instrument is not in use.
4.9
Cleaning Procedure:
4.9.1
Unplug the mixer from its power supply before attempting any cleaning
activity.
4.9.2
Keep the unit clean by immediately blotting any spillages.
4.9.3
Use a moistened cloth soaked in mild detergent or approved disinfectants
to clean the outside surface.
4.9.4
Clean the instrument before usage and after usage or at the time of any
spillage occurs.
4.10
Precautions:
4.10.1
Never operate the unit without a shaking head, which is securely
attached.
4.10.2
Always wear goggles while operating the cyclo mixer.
4.10.3
Do not use or mix solvents and flammables on or near the mixer.
4.10.4
Mix hazardous samples in appropriate vessels.
4.10.5
The cyclo mixer may become warm to touch when in constant use.
4.10.6
Do not lift the mixer from its removable rubber attachments.
4.10.7
Avoid wetting and unnecessary exposure to fumes.
