1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To provide guidelines for Operation & Maintenance
of UV-Visible Spectrophotometer.
2.0 POLICY:
To establish a procedure for a operation of UV visible
recording Spectrophotometer.
3.0 PROCEDURE:
3.1
Remove the silica gel bag from the
compartment.
3.2 Switch
on the power supply, immediately the screen shows “Initialization” for 1 min., followed by “Base line correction”.
3.3
Then the screen shows “Basic mode”.
3.4
Select the required mode i.e.
Photometric/spectrum with the help of key board.
3.5
Then enter the required parameters
in the selected mode.
3.6
After entering all the required
parameters press “start” key for
measurement.
3.7 Before
pouring the Blank and Sample solutions in the cuvettes, it should be thoroughly
rinsed with respective solutions. Press
3.8
Auto
zero before putting Blank and sample cuvettes in the sample compartment.
3.9
After pressing Auto zero put the Blank and Sample cuvettes in respective cells in
the compartment.
3.10
Close the compartment and press start
key for measurement of the Absorbance of the Sample.
3.11 After
measuring absorbance bring the display to mode position and then switch off the
instrument.
3.12
After switching off place the silica
gel bag in the compartment and close it.
4.0 FREQUENCY: As and when
required.
5.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
Executive Q.A / Jr.Executive.
