1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To provide guidelines for Operation & Maintenance
of Hot Air Oven.
2.0 POLICY:
Oven is used not only for drying glass ware but also
used for checking loss on drying of various materials prescribed in
Pharmacopoeia. So it is necessary to maintain constant temperature for certain
period.
3.0 PROCEDURE:
3.1
Switch on the Hot Air Oven and
adjust the set knob to desired temperature.
3.2 By
testing the temperature the indication bulb glows immediately. When the
temperature in the oven reaches set value the bulb glows off.
3.3 Check
the temperature displayed with set value, if any difference is observed adjust
by using the fine control knob.
3.4 Calibrate
the Hot Air Oven with Standard Thermometer, once in three months record the
reading in Calibration register.
3.5
Clean the hot air oven every day
with dry cloth should be free from foreign matter.
4.0 FREQUENCY: Once in Three
months.
