2.0       SCOPE:

To ensure a procedure for Testing of Municipal Water.

3.0       PROCEDURE:

3.1       Municipal water (Potable water) supply is on alternate days and gets collected in the water sump
During the time of inflow 250 ml of 10% sodium hypochlorite solution is added as a precautionary measure to prevent microbial contamination. The addition is checked by QA Executive.

Free chlorine content is checked daily by QA with the help of chlorine test kit. Free chlorine should be in the range of 0.2 to 3.0 ppm.

Drain the water through the sampling point for 5 minutes before drawing the sample.

3.2       Sample for the microbial test is to be taken before drawing the sample for physical and chemical analysis.

3.3       Sample for microbial analysis is to be taken in sterile container and to be tested within 4 hours of drawing the sample.

3.4       Microbial and chemical analysis is to be done for Municipal water.

3.5       Municipal water /drinking water must comply with the specifications provided in form “Raw Material Analytical Report “Annexure-1 Sop No. 03/QA.

3.6       If the results are found out of specification then inform GM QA and check the following
