1.0       OBJECTIVE:

To provide guidelines for Operation and Maintenance of TLC Cabinet.

2.0       POLICY:

TLC cabinet is used to examine the spots on TLC plates and for visual comparison of the RF and Intensity of the spots under an Ultra Violet light having maximum output at about 254nm or  at about 365nm ,as the case may be.

3.0       PROCEDURE:

3.1       TLC cabinet has three lamps one in UV short wave 254nm, second in UV long wave 365nm and third in White Florescent light.

3.2       Keep the spotted plate in the cabinet.

3.3       Switch on the light source for required wave length.

3.4       Check the plate for specified observations. Switch off the light source after the observation.

3.5       Never look into the burning lamp.

3.6       Protect your skin and eyes against Ultra Violet rays.

3.7       Clean the cabinet every day with dry cloth.

4.0       FREQUENCY: Calibration done once in three months as per I.P procedure.

5.0       RESPONSIBILITY:  Executive Q.A.

6.0       REVIEW GUIDE: Calibration register.
