1.0 OBJECTIVE:
To provide guidelines for Calibration of Conductivity
meter.
2.0 POLICY:
To lay down a procedure for calibration of
conductivity meter.
3.0 PROCEDURE:
3.1 Switch on the instrument.
3.2 Put the conductivity cell in the beaker
containing Standard solution.
3.3 Select the appropriate conductance range
with range knob.
3.4 Measure
the temperature of the Standard solution and set the temperature control to the
value of the measured temperature.
3.5 Put Read or Check knob in the check
position and measure the conductivity of the solution.
3.6 After taking the reading clean the
conductivity cell thoroughly with distilled water.
3.7 Preparation
of Standard solution.
3.7.1 Dissolve 7.474 g of AR grade KCl in one
liter of double distilled water to get 0.1N KCl solution.
3.7.2 Transfer
10 ml of the KCl solution to a 100 ml volumetric flask. Make up with distilled
water and mix well to get 0.01N KCl.
3.7.3 Specific conductance of KCl solution of
different normality’s are as follows:

4.0 FREQUENCY: Once in three
months.
5.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
Executive (QA).
